Seamless pipe is extruded and drawn from a billet, while welded pipe is produced from a strip that is roll formed and welded. Welded pipe is often less expensive than comparably sized seamless pipe,but it does not offer similar working capabilities. Flanges connect pipes,valves, pumps and other equipment, forming a piping system.
